Feelin the Burn in the Cold....

It's cold, it's snowy and you want me to go outside and WORK OUT?!

Here at Real Life Fitness the answer to that question is YES. Outdoor exercise is a sure cure for cabin fever and the winter blues. And it increases energy, which can be depleted by gloomy weather. The biggest reason, IT IS SO FUN and you can burn tons of calories!
Let's explore some of the possibilities and options of outdoor exercise:

Downhill Skiing/Snowboarding: Utah has over 13 amazing ski resorts all in close proximity to The Utah Fitness Retreat...There's a reason why Utah is claimed to have "the best snow on earth". Check out Ski Utah for more information on the plethora of skiing options.

Cross Country Skiing: Cross-country skiing on groomed trails is a favorite winter sport in Utah. In addition, Utah has hundreds of roads and trails which are ideal for cross-country skiing. This activity truly is one of the best total body workouts and the sweat on your brow will prove this. It's so nice to get out and see the gorgeous landscape of Utah while giving your body some intense exercise.

Ice skating: Come on..It's fun, brings you back to your youth and is a killer leg and butt workout! Need I say more?

Snow Shoeing: The good news is that anyone who can walk can go snowshoeing. It's fun, active, simple and easy to learn and talk about the cardiovascular workout! You won't even realize it's cold out you'll burning so many calories.

Winter walks: My personal favorite...A nice way to refresh, breathe in the cold air, burn calories, meditate on nature, or visit with a friend.

Snowmobiling: A great upper body workout, and talk about the intense fun!

Remember a few key elements when taking it outside...Bundle up; wear the right warm weather gear, lather up the sunscreen, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Oh, and enjoy yourself and enjoy Utah. Here at the Utah Fitness Retreat, you can bet we are!
